  FAQs

Q: I can't access the Moodle page for the Project T2020 / VLAB UNIPD (warning: "Non puoi iscriverti a questo corso."). What shall I do?

A: Contact your lecturer asking him / her to add you manually to the list of participants.

Q: How can I access the virtual laboratories?

A: Read the Instructions on how to access the VLAB.

Q: I’m trying to login, but I get the message: "User account expired". What shall I do?

A: Try to change the password of your e-mail, wait for 20 minutes and try again.

Q: I’m trying to register, but I’m out of time. What shall I do?

A: Contact your lecturer asking him / her to extend the registration deadline.

Q: I have a pc with an operating system older than Windows 10. What shall I do?

A: The supported operating systems are Windows 10, macOS and Linux. If your pc is not compatible, use the web interface with an updated browser. As an alternative, you can download the latest version compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8.1 from the following link.

Q: I launch the Horizon client, I can see the virtual machine, but I can’t access. What shall I do?

A: Make sure that:

1. You have registered for the Project T2020 / VLAB UNIPD and have selected one or more courses

2. You have booked a slot after carefully reading the Instructions on how to access the VLAB.

3.  Contact your lecturer asking him / her to be sure you have been enable for the container/VLAB.

Q: I need to copy some files from the virtual machine to my computer and viceversa. What shall I do?

A: You can do that only if you have the Horizon client installed. Click on Options -> Share Folders; a panel opens, click on Drive sharing on your right, click on Add and select the directory of your pc to share, click on Ok. To visualize the folder, go to “This PC” and then to the section “Network locations”.

Q: I’m using the virtual laboratory, but the screen of my software doesn’t fit perfectly with the screen resolution. What shall I do?

A: After launching the Horizon client, click on the Options Menu and enable “Allow Display Scaling”, then disconnect from the laboratory and login again.

Q: I followed all the above procedures, but I still have some problems. What shall I do?

A: In this case, send an e-mail to vlab.dii@unipd.it , describing the problem in detail, as well as providing the following info:

• Name Family name
• Degree Programme (specify if Bachelor’s / Master’s)
• Name of the course and of the lecturer
• Virtual laboratory 
• Screenshots of the errors occurred (if the case)
