Abstract del progetto

This project aims at building a breakthrough virtual testing platform to engage some of the most debated problems for the worldwide aeronautic community and, in particular, of the Italian aircraft industry. The basic building block of the project "DEvelopment and applications of a VIrtual hybrid platform for multiscale analysis of advanced StructUres of aircraft" (DEVISU) is a multi-scale, multi-field structural modelling methodology known as Carrera Unified Formulation, which will be extended to deal with strategic topics to enhance the safety of new aircraft structures, the comfort, and the cost-effectiveness. The involvement of DEVISU partners will allow to build a unique Hybrid Virtual Testing platform able to: extend damage tolerance methodologies to large composite anisotropic layered aircraft structures; include non-classical mechanics methods (non-local, micro-polar, peridynamics) for the simulation of failure mechanisms; build extensive sensing and control techniques for vibration damping and noise attenuation; explore extensively the advantages of using metamaterials in noise and vibration attenuation; build efficient and reliable meta-models to be used in the analysis and simulations above.
